“During our tour in China, we were able to see how Huawei is focused with innovation as they say a better connected world, the training we received has put us on the right track to advice telecom companies or even the government on the advancement of our technology to cope with global standards,” he said.
He said that acquiring some hands on skills by getting the 3G and 4G network voice service experience and the software used for monitoring and maintenance and also configuration for the three services HSI, VoIP and IPTV, not only learning things theoretically but putting the knowledge into practice.
According to Jimmy Liguo, the Huawei Tanzania Public relations Manager, Seeds for the Future’ program is Huawei’s global CSR flagship program. The program is Huawei’s most heavily invested CSR activity, and the company will continue to invest in the program over the long term.
“The program was initiated by Huawei in 2008, and seeks to develop local ICT talent, enhance knowledge transfer, promote a greater understanding and interest in the telecommunications sector, improve and encourage regional building and participation in the digital community,” he said.
In 2008, Huawei launched the program to nurture professionals who are urgently needed to drive the development of the ICT industry in countries where it operates. The company seeks to close the gap between knowledge learned in the classroom and the skills required by the industry, and enhance knowledge transfer.
According to him, in many countries, there is a gap between the knowledge learned in the classroom and the skills that are necessary in the real world. Therefore, the pool of skilled personnel should be provided opportunities to learn and apply the latest technologies. Through the ‘Seeds for the Future’ program, Huawei helps resolve this problem.
